Bigowsky appeals demotion from chief to patrolman

Published:Friday, June 27, 2008

GIRARD — Former Girard Police Chief Frank Bigowsky has filed an official appeal to the city’s decision to demote him from chief to patrolman.

The appeal came late Friday afternoon from Atty. Dennis Haines, who represents Bigowsky, addressed to the city civil service commission.

“Frank Bigowsky hereby appeals the order of reduction/suspension served on him on June 24, 2008 ... Pursuant to the order of reduction/suspension, Frank Bigowsky was demoted from his position as chief of police for the city of Girard to the rank of patrolman. Frank Bigowsky seeks a full reversal of the order appealed and reinstatement to his position of chief of police with full back pay and benefits.”

“Frank Bigowsky hereby requests a full hearing, including the opportunity to present witnesses, testimony and other evidence, before this commission,” the one-page letter states.

I hope the Chief kicks Girard right where it hurts. This is purely harrassment by the mayor and some members of council. What goes around comes around.

Go Biggie!!!!
Melfi is obviously a narcissist. Has anyone seen the way he sits at his desk while he’s being interviewed by the news stations? Leaned back, legs up, arms crossed…like an arrogant pig. Someone ought to investigate him. The Chief hasn’t done anything wrong. The mayor is just a vindictive ego-maniac. The city of Girard should be rallying against Melfi.
