Men working on car steal $1,900 and government aid check

Published: Sun, July 5, 2009 @ 6:55 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A 23-year-old LaBelle Avenue man said his wallet containing $1,900 in cash and a government aid check were stolen by men working on his car.

The man told police that he was having a sound system installed in his car by four men on East Lucius Avenue about 2 p.m. Saturday. The father of one of the men said they had to finish the job somewhere else, so they went to an abandoned house on East Marion Avenue, reports said.

The victim said he was asked to hold a wire under the hood of the car. While his back was turned, someone stole his wallet from his back pocket, reports said. He told police that he ran when one of the men pointed a gun at him.

Sounds like one of Y-town's finest hoodies got what he gives to me. $1900 in a wallet - wonder how he got that much cash? Sounds fishy to me.

"ITS ALL GOOD"

This fellow was probably just carrying around the money that he had saved as a paperboy in his younger days. Right?
