Published: Mon, October 5, 2009 @ 1:25 a.m.

WAKEMAN, Ohio (AP) — Police in the northern Ohio village of Wakeman say they are investigating several cases of cat poisoning over the past two weeks.

Wakeman Police Chief Tim Hunker says he’s had about 15 reports of poisoned animals and guesses the total number of cases, including unreported poisonings, is higher.

He says both strays and family pets have been killed.

Wakeman, with about 930 residents, is 12 miles south of Lake Erie.
