Can you believe Jeff Jacobs? He tried to partner with Dan Gilbert and wanted a sweet heart deal. When they couldn’t reach an agreement he told them if it is not his way he will spend millions to defeat the bill. Not only is he spending millions but he is spreading lies and is worse than a School boy Bully. Here is a guy that owns numerous casinos around the neighbor states telling everyone that casinos ruin families create gambling addicts, drug addiction and promote prostitution. Jeff do you think we are all really that stupid? This is only going to happen in Ohio and not at your casinos? While I would have liked Youngstown to have a casino, I am not going to cut my nose to spite my face. I am voting “Yes” and when the issue passes and they build a casino in Cleveland, I will visit Cleveland and not go anywhere else. At least the tax dollars will end up in OHIO and back in the Valley.
Sorry Jeffery, you big bully, we are not that stupid and you should be taken out back and spanked.
First Energy is a monopoly.... they have no customer service mentality. You connot drive to the office and speak with anyone to address a bill directly. They hid behind no service department available to the public. They are heavy handed and arbitrary. If this was as real business without PUCO intervention they would die an immeadiate death!
When we come to realize that we must take care of the heart before moving on to other parts of the body we will begin to solve some of the problems that persist in the region. The City of Youngstown is the HEART of the community. It needs to be healthy and vibrant or the rest of the body will die.
I think that they should stay in downtown Youngstown, where they have been for many years. Downtown is convenient to seniors, it has all local banks and law firms, the court house, not to mention City Hall, and other services that seniors use and have grown accustomed to in Downtown Youngstown. It would be a shame for them to move out of the city, even if it saves them a few dollars, it will inconvienence so many senior citizens. I hope they reconsider, I sure hope nothing more sinister is going on here!
This Chevy Center was a great venue, the city is a great place to live, work, and play. Congrats to Pavlik, and the City, Chevy Center and all who made this happen. Youngstown should be very proud.
This was a first class affair un a first class city. Youngstown and all the politicians, and every citizen that lives in the city and from the burbs should be very proud of! Hats off to Kelly Pavlik and the boxing world. Boom Boom is also one class guy!! Move back home Boom Boom, or come visit us more often, we love you!!

Is this building on the historic register? Can the very small elevator be enlarged?
