Higher property taxes causes less housing demand, more foreclosures and less money in the pockets of the taxpayers, therefore more businesses close and housing values decline. Raising taxes so you can pay township employees Caddy wages and benefits is a foolish policy. Taxpayers get no benefit from that and it impedes growth.
The fact that we can run with less manpower and crime hasn't spiked nor have more fires occurred shows everyone how bloated Boardman government was.
Instead of expanding government and its ever growing need for revenues and the extraction of those dollars from the people who fuel the Boardman economy, the taxpayers, we need the opposite.
