One mom's gift -- a son with Down syndrome

Posted on: October 18, 2009

By Todd Franko

A column I wrote for Sunday, Oct. 18 focuses on the opening of a new home for the Down Syndrome Association of the Valley.

To help tell the story, I interviewed Christina Neer, a mom from Deerfield in neighboring Portage County. Her son, Luke, 8, has Down syndrome. She says his birth has become a gift to her and her husband.

Very nice column. It is wonderful to hear this and think it is great that people were involved and did what needed to be done with something like this in the Valley.

I also ask the haters of Todd and Sarah Palin for having a Downs child please come forward.

1-800 is not a good number either.
