Catholic Charities plans to present Voice of Hope awards
YOUNGSTOWN — Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown will host its annual Voice of Hope dinner May 1 at the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles.Doors will open 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception. Dinner service will begin 6:20 p.m.
St. Michael Parish in Canfield (accepted by the Very Rev. John-Michael Lavelle) and Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley (accepted by Paul S. Homick, Jr., JD, president), will be recognized with Voice of Hope awards for their organizations’ dedication, service and support of Catholic Charities.
The event will include a video presentation, entertainment from Backbeat with John Reese, raffles, prizes, dinner and dessert. All proceeds from the Catholic Charities Voice of Hope Dinner support basic needs assistance for individuals and families in all six counties of the Diocese of Youngstown.
In 2024, Catholic Charities served more than 35,000 people, 96% living at or below the federal poverty line.
“The Voice of Hope Dinner is a special evening to highlight the meaningful impact Catholic Charities has in our communities, serving anyone in need, regardless of faith,” said Rachel Hrbolich, Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities. “It’s also a time to celebrate those who embody our mission and walk as pilgrims of hope, bringing compassion and service to others in their daily lives.”
