Local teens will receive Eagle of the Cross award
YOUNGSTOWN — The office of Youth and Young Adult Accompaniment of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will present 20 recipients with the 2025 Eagle of the Cross Award.
The award, which is the highest honor our diocese bestows on youth, was created by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry and introduced 27 years ago. The award is given each year to a group of extraordinary high school juniors and seniors who model Catholic-Christian leadership among their peers, dedication to the faith and moral integrity for the church.
Bishop David Bonnar will present the awards at a ceremony 6 p.m. April 28 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. A reception will follow in the church hall.
Among the award recipients from Trumbull and Mahoning counties are
• Brooke Bosheff — Trumbull County, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, McDonald.
• Gregory Carbon — Mahoning County, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown.
• Jacob Fieldhouse — Mahoning County, St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Boardman.
• Christopher Mijavec— Trumbull County, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Warren.
• Luke Rowland — Mahoning County, St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown.
• Francesca Bolchalk — John F. Kennedy Catholic School, Warren, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Warren.
• Marc DelliQuadri — Ursuline High School, Youngstown, St. Rose Parish, Girard.
• Rocco Gentile — Cardinal Mooney High School, Youngstown, Holy Family Parish, Poland.
• Aidan Hryb — Cardinal Mooney High School, Holy Family Parish, Poland.
• Giuliana Ricchiuti — Ursuline High School, Youngstown, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown.
