Christmas at Lanterman’s Mill set for this weekend

This year’s Christmas at Lanterman’s Mill takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The mill, 1001 Canfield Road, Youngstown, will be decorated for the season. Chestnuts will be roasting on an open fire, and handcrafted gifts will be sold. Live entertainment is planned, and Santa Claus will be there from noon to 2 p.m. each day.

Admission is free, although those attending are encouraged to bring a new hat, scarf or pair of mittens to decorate the “Giving Tree” and later donated to those in need. For more information, go to millcreekmetroparks.org.

‘Cookie Table’ author Alice Corsetto to speak at Butler

Alice Crosetto, author of “The Cookie Table, A Steel Valley Tradition,” will speak at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave., Youngstown, on Sunday as part of National Museum Store Sunday.

Crosetto will talk about her book at 1 p.m., followed by a book signing.

The Butler will offer 10% off purchases from its museum store, and Butler members will receive 20% off with their membership card.

Newton Falls to celebrate ‘Christmas in the Falls’

Downtown Newton Falls will celebrate “Christmas in the Falls” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The event will include food trucks, a coffee stand, a live Nativity, horse-drawn carriage rides, a parade, live entertainment, appearances by Santa & Mrs. Claus and the Grinch and the downtown tree lighting. An Acoustics Swiftness, an evening of Taylor Swift favorites performed by vocalist Makayla McIntosh and guitarist Rob Walters, is planned from 6:30 to 8 p.m at Emilia’s Sole Alleata.

Top Hat offers ‘Yuletide Celebration’ for 6 shows

Top Hat Productions will present its “Renaissance Feast & Yuletide Celebration” for six performances at Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road, Youngstown.

Guests will feast on cornish hen, wild rice, green beans, bread salad and a Renaissance-style pudding and partake in a non-alcoholic wassail toast while enjoying jesters, mimes, acrobats, minstrels, magicians, musicians and dancers for a holiday celebration.

Performances are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. Tickets are $36.50 and are available online at tophatproductions.org/shows.
