Farmers National acquires retirement planning firm
Farmers National Banc Corp. announced Tuesday a subsidiary, National Associates, Inc., has acquired Crest Retirement Advisors LLC, which provides custom retirement plans and administrative services to small businesses.
The transaction closed Monday, and is expected to be accretive to earnings immediately. Crest will continue to operate under its name and from its headquarters in the Columbus suburb of Dublin, but is expected to merge with National Associates Inc., according to a press release.
Most of Crest’s business comes from central Ohio.
“Since 2014, Crest has helped Columbus-area small businesses create, administer and manage customized retirement plans,” Kevin J. Helmick, president & CEO of Farmers, said in the release.
“Crest aligns with our multiyear growth strategy by profitably expanding our wealth management business, while increasing our presence in central Ohio.”
The company’s president and founder, Rob Martin, said Farmers’ growing presence in Ohio and Pennsylvania offers Crest “an excellent platform to grow and provide more services to our clients.”
The release did not disclose terms of the deal.
Canfield-based Farmers National Banc Corp. is the holding company for Farmers National Bank, which has 62 locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and Farmers Trust Company, which operates five trust offices and offers services in the same geographic markets.
