$50K grant allows Warren company to add machinery and employees
WARREN — City manufacturer REM Electronics Supply Company said it will invest a $50,000 state grant in advanced machinery to meet its customers’ growing needs while adding three jobs.
Funding came Tuesday from a JobsOhio Small Business Grant.
JobsOhio is a private, nonprofit economic development agency based in Columbus. Assisting REM Electronics in the application process was Lake to River, a JobsOhio network partner.
“This investment allows us to enhance our production capabilities and better serve our customers, many of whom depend on precision and reliability,” said Jan Dyer, REM Electronics president. “This funding helps us stay ahead of the curve, remain competitive and provide new job opportunities in Warren.”
In operation since 1955, the electronic distributor and contract manufacturer has its headquarters on South Park Avenue with a satellite office in Erie, Pa.
The JobsOhio Small Business Grant is designed to spur business growth in eligible communities or those owned by underrepresented populations, according to a news release. The program supports fixed asset investments, workforce expansion and operational improvements critical to a company’s long-term success.
“Helping small businesses access critical funding is what we do,” David Wilaj, project management at Lake to River, said. “In this case, we connected REM Electronics with the JobsOhio Small Business Grant, ensuring they have the resources to grow, invest in new equipment and create jobs. This is exactly the type of impact we aim to make in our region.”
