WALKER HERITAGE GUEST: Dave Walker, a native of Van Wert, will discuss the medium bombers of World War II when he speaks Monday at A La Carte Catering in Canfield, for the World War II Heritage Group. His talk will be preceded by a buffet dinner at 6:15 p.m. Reservations are required, with Dave Frank at 330-757-0515, by Thursday.

Dave’s father served with the 5th Air Force in the Pacific Southwest, the 345th Bombardment Group. They were equipped with B-25 Mitchells. Walker is a six-year veteran of the Ohio National Guard. He earned a degree in Elementary Education at Wright State in 1983 and taught 4th through 6th grades at the Van Wert City Schools for 30 years. He also completed his MA Degree in History from the same university in 2003. He and his wife Holly are active in living history.
