Dylan’s House featured at Canfield Rotary
Amy Shope was the featured speaker at the recent Canfield Rotary luncheon. Amy and her husband, Kevin, created the nonprofit Dylan’s House, the goal of which is to support individuals with Autism and is named after their son. Amy shared that the foundation focuses on education, caregivers and housing. Families with members on the Autism spectrum are provided with support. Dylan’s House provides grants for caregivers which are available throughout the year.
A major focus is providing housing for adults with Autism so that they can live comfortably and independently.
Amy stated that progress is being made in providing affordable housing designed to meet the unique challenges of Autistic individuals. Construction for two houses in Struthers and Boardman is planned for 2025.
Sunday Funday, an upcoming fundraiser, will be 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 13 at Penguin City Brewing. Tickets are $30, and sponsorships are still available. Additional information regarding the nonprofit can be found at DylansHouse.org.
