YOUNGSTOWN — Traffic is being routed around a serious two-vehicle accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in front of the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

An ambulance left the scene about 4:30 PM, but it is not known whether anyone suffered serious injuries.

The street is filled with police cruisers and two firetrucks. There are accident investigators at the scene.

According to a bystander, someone standing near the crash retrieved a fire extinguisher from the Mission and put out a fire that had started in one of the cars. The male in that car appeared to be seriously injured, the bystander said.

Rush hour traffic that would normally flow through that area is being routed around to side streets.
