YOUNGSTOWN — The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested David Tribble, 44, Thursday night in the July 11 shooting death of 51-year-old Jermaine Tillis.

Tillis was shot and killed in the 300 block of East Judson Avenue in Youngstown following an altercation, according to a Marshals news release.

Tribble was wanted by the Youngstown Police Department on a murder charge filed in Youngstown Municipal Court July 11, the release states.

After pursuing Tribble for a of couple months, NOVFTF officers arrested Tribble in the 600 block of Mistletoe Avenue on Youngstown’s South Side.

Pete Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio stated in the release, “Our officers work day and night pursuing these violent fugitives. Last night was just another example of their dedication to keeping the communities they protect safe by taking homicide suspects off the street.”

The task force consists of the following agencies: Boardman Township Police, Campbell Police, Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, Liberty Police, Lordstown Police, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy Health Police, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Salem Police, Trumbull County Adult Probation Department, Warren Police, Youngstown Police and the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
