North Jackson death ruled an accident
YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has ruled the Oct. 31 death of Tyler J. Webb, 22, of Lodi to be an accidental drowning.
Rescue teams pulled Webb from a large private pond in North Jackson on Oct. 31. An autopsy was carried out by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. The North Jackson Police Department and Mahoning County Coroner’s Office investigated.
The coroner’s office found that Webb was wearing waders while working on a water fountain in the pond, and the waders filled with water, causing him to go under.
Webb graduated from Cloverleaf High School in Lodi in 2020 and graduated with honors from Bowling Green State University in April 2023. He was employed by Jones Fish and Lake Management of Medina as an aquatic biologist, according to his obituary.
He loved a variety of sports, playing baseball, football and basketball in high school and played semi-pro dodgeball for the Toledo Lake Monsters. He had a passion for science and sea turtles, but most of all a deep love for his family and fiancee, Abigail, his obituary states.
