HOWLAND — The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of a fatal house fire in Howland on Sunday morning.

Fire crews were called at 7 a.m. Sunday to the 7600 block of Dawson Drive for a house on fire. The fire report states flames and smoke were seen coming from the structure. A person was found dead inside.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Assisting Howland were crews from Brookfield, Cortland, Vienna and the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
