Donna L. Fleming 1942-2025
BOARDMAN — Donna Lee Fleming, 82, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 19, 2025.
She was born June 21, 1942, in Canonsburg, Pa., the daughter of Steve Sr. and Blanche Smith.
Donna graduated from Canon-McMillan High School and moved to the Youngstown area in the early 1970s. Donna was employed as a cook for various restaurants throughout the Mahoning Valley until the early 1990s, then worked as a babysitter besides being a proud homemaker.
She was a true matriarch for her family, always making them her top priority, and looked forward to spending time with them. She loved to cook and bake for her sons and they will miss all her wonderful dishes and pastries.
Donna was a member of St. Charles Church and was a huge animal lover, especially for her beloved dogs. She also was one of the biggest and devoted fans, rooting for her favorite teams the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Donna leaves behind to hold onto to her memories, two sons, Frederick Fleming III and Brian Fleming; her two sisters, Joyce Arent and Rose Federoff; a sister-in-law, Mary Smith; and her beloved dog, Bella; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a son, Ronald “Ron” Fleming; and her brother, Steve Smith Jr.
Family and friends may pay their respects 10 to 10:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, in the chapel of St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, where a funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Brian Cline as celebrant. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Boardman.
