GIRARD — The Girard City School District is seeking applicants to fill an opening on the board of education as Diane Alejars resigned from the board Friday.

Because Alejar’s term is unexpired, the board must appoint an individual to fill her vacated seat for the last year of her four-year term. Those who are interested in filling Alejar’s one-year term should visit the district website at www.girardcityschools.org for access to the application to submit to District Treasurer Maureen Lloyd, 100 W. Main St., Suite 2, Girard, OH 44420, no later than 4 p.m. Jan. 21.

The letter can be hand delivered or emailed to maureen.lloyd@girardcityschools.org.

Officials said the appointment will be made either at the regular board meeting Jan. 23 and / or before Feb. 9.
