McDONALD — The McDonald Board of Education on Wednesday named its former treasurer Megan Titus as interim treasurer as they continue their search for a new treasurer.

Titus will be paid $50 per hour as an interim treasurer.

Superintendent Kevin O’Connell said Titus will work for McDonald after her work hours at Bristol schools, where she was recently hired as treasurer.

O’Connell said the board needs more time to find a replacement because of the holiday season. He said continuing the search now will draw more applicants, and that Titus has agreed to work with the selected new treasurer and help that person transition to the new position.

“She knows our system, This is a win-win for us,” he said.

In other business, O’Connell said he and members of the board will tour the two school buildings Saturday morning to see what projects will need done, including the school boilers and the elementary school roof. He said he and the board will have a work session at 9 a.m.
