McNally named secretary of Dem Women’s Caucus

State Rep. Lauren McNally, D-Youngstown, will serve as secretary for the Ohio Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus, a leadership position in the group.

McNally will also serve on the caucus’ strategic communications standing committee.

The caucus, McNally said, “is a testament to the strength of women coming together with a purpose and passion — especially at a time when our nation’s leaders seem to be hell bent on setting us back. By lifting each other up and standing for what’s right, we are creating a brighter, more equitable future not just for ourselves, but for generations to come.”

There are 34 Democrats in the Ohio House; 17 are women. It’s the first time in history women make up half of the House Democratic Caucus, McNally said.

The caucus’ mission is to develop and pass policies and legislation that improve the lives of Ohio women and their families, identify and support emerging women leaders by serving as mentors, and empower women and increase women’s involvement in public life and the General Assembly.

Starting at $2.99/week.
