Police arrest couple hiding out at hotel
LIBERTY — A Newton Falls couple pleaded not guilty at their respective arraignments Thursday after Liberty police arrested them in response to a trespassing issue.
Paul Ours, 51, was arrested on charges of resisting, obstructing and trespassing, while Sarah Ours, 46, was arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing.
According to a police report, Liberty police received a report of a man repeatedly entering a Speedway gas station after being asked not to.
The man was also seen entering a nearby hotel. Officers tracked him to a booked room, where a woman — Sarah — gave false aliases for the couple.
Officers placed her under arrest after she started to argue with them when they checked the bathroom and found Paul in the bathtub, the police report states.
The couple attempted to run from officers but were eventually caught. They used a stun gun on Paul after he made a move to reach for a weapon.
Both are set to appear back in court Feb. 6, according to court records.
