Clinic to expand services in Valley
Mahoning Valley patients of the Cleveland Clinic learned late last month that their choices of providers have expanded south.
Starting Feb. 18, the Cleveland-based facility will offer in-person appointments at five new sites in Trumbull and Mahoning counties. It began accepting appointments Feb. 3.
“We have physicians joining Cleveland Clinic,” a spokeswoman responded in an email. “We will have more information that we can share with you in the next week or so.”
Per website verification, a majority of the medical providers involved are affiliated with the bankrupt Steward Health Care. More than 30 of its hospitals were up for sale last year, including Sharon Regional, Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland.
Today, the hospitals operate as Insight Hospital & Medical Center at Trumbull and Insight Rehabilitation Hospital Hillside.
“Many of the primary care physicians who used to be part of Steward Medical Group are now employed by Cleveland Clinic Foundation,” a spokesperson for Insight Health System stated Monday in an emailed release.
“Their preferred local hospital continues to be Insight Hospital and Medical Center Trumbull, and ongoing discussions continue with the Cleveland Clinic and Insight Health System focused on how to best serve the community together going forward.”
Three outpatient centers will operate in Austintown, south of Mahoning Avenue and north of New Road.
Located at 1140 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Suite B, the first outpatient center will feature physicians Roman Davidenko, Anthony Russo, James Shina and Anne Stover, in addition to nurse practitioner Andria Simmons.
Doctors Michael J. Devine III, Tolga Icli and David Kennedy will staff the second site, 1440 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Suite A.
The third outpatient center is at 1570 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Building A, Suite 101. On-site will be doctors Anthony S. Lattanzio, Apurva Padubidri and Paul Rich.
Cleveland Clinic also will add physicians in Howland and Kinsman, it announced in a Jan. 23 letter.
An outpatient center in Howland has been opened at 8700 E. Market St., Suite 4, with doctors Jacob Bair and Angela Robert on staff.
Physicians Jeffrey Bedlion and Sabrina K. Varga, joined by nurse practitioner Peter Hunkus III, will see patients at 8511 E. Main St., Kinsman.
