WHAT: Township trustees meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Steve Gerberry, Ed Whittaker and Rich Harkins
Trustees:
• Authorized the county engineer’s office and the county commissioners to advertise for bids on behalf of the township for the Ohltown Girard Road paving project, which is an Ohio Public Works Commission project. Officials said repairs will be made on the road this spring.
• Will have police Chief Mike Naples renew the annual agreement for 2025 with the Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team and contribute $2,000. The fee is paid by all the law enforcement enforcement agencies within the response area of the team. Naples said the price stayed the same and the township wants to have them available when needed.
• Announced the annual Flag Day Festival will be June 12 to 15 at the community park with Township Administrator David Rouan to enter into agreements for entertainment, sounds and lighting, tents, tables, chairs and other items for the festival.
• Appointed Harkins as representative to the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District Advisory Council.
• Announced they were notified by Armstrong of an expected upcoming rate increase for video service and internet service.
• Announced spring cleanup the week of April 28, scrap tire pickup program April 28 to May 2, and document shredding May 3 at the community park.
