Liberty police looking for individuals involved in theft

Staff report

LIBERTY — Police are waiting until the remaining three of six suspects in a Walmart theft have been identified before filing charges.

Liberty police were dispatched to the Liberty Plaza Walmart in response to a theft report last week. A security guard explained that six suspects — three men and three women — entered the store Thursday night and left nearly an hour later, filling several shopping carts with items whose prices total $2,341.

The guard said this was the confirmed amount, although there were still “numerous items” to be accounted for; the total dollar amount is estimated to be $5,000 to $6,000.

Security company employees were able to identify one suspect out of the two involved vehicles — 40-year-old Desire Pruitt of Warren — because they had previous theft investigations involving her. She was also identified through photos and her BMV image.

Liberty police were able to locate both vehicles, a red Chevrolet Equinox and a maroon Buick Verano, through their Flock camera system and identified their owners as Gabrielle Green and 24-year-old Damien Williams, both of Warren.

According to the report, police discovered Pruitt and Green had the same School Street address. An Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway address search located Rionna Armstrong, who also had the same address and was identified as one of the suspects in the store.

The officer noted that he’s still investigating the remaining three suspects’ identities while security employees continue to gather the complete dollar amount of stolen merchandise.

Starting at $2.99/week.
