Mahoning road projects to force one-lane traffic

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced the following projects that will affect traffic patterns in Mahoning County over the next several weeks:
Interstate 680 northbound under Walker Mill Road is reduced to one lane for ongoing bridge repairs. Walker Mill Road over I-680 is closed through mid-June, and the detour is South Avenue to U.S. 224 to state Route 170 to North Lima Road.
Also on I-680, the northbound portion has various lane restrictions from just north of U.S. Route 224 to state Route 170 for noise wall installation. The estimated completion date is September.
U.S. 224 over Interstate 76 / Ohio Turnpike is reduced to one lane in each direction through fall 2026 for a bridge replacement being performed by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
State Route 170 southbound is closed between state Route 630 / Calla Road and Woodland Drive through late October for pavement reconstruction. The detour is state Route 617 to state Route 165 to state Route 626 to state Route 7 to U.S. 224 to state Route 170. The estimated completion date is late October.
