Salem man sentenced for rapes

YOUNGSTOWN — Nikolas Moore, 31, of Lundy Avenue in Salem, was sentenced to 10 to 12.5 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty earlier to two counts of rape.

He gets credit for 146 days spent in the Mahoning County jail awaiting trial.

Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Anthony D’Apolito sentenced Moore, who also will be required to register as a tier 3 sex offender when he leaves prison, meaning Moore must register his address with the sheriff in the county where he resides every 90 days, according to court documents.

Moore indicated that he plans to live on Lundy Avenue in Salem.

According to Moore’s indictment, he engaged in sexual conduct with a child less than 13 years old in 2020 and 2021.

Moore has been in the Mahoning County jail since Nov. 1, according to jail records.
