Youngstown Press Club elects new president, officers
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Press Club has announced a new president.
During the organization’s Monday meeting, Elise Skolnick was named as the new leader for a two-year term.
Skolnick is communications and marketing director for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation and its agencies, as well as editor of the Jewish Journal, which is a publication of the federation.
Previously, Skolnick was communications coordinator for the YWCA of Youngstown, now known as YWCA Mahoning Valley.
For more than 20 years, her reporting appeared in various newspapers, including The Vindicator and The Business Journal, and Woman’s World magazine.
She and her husband, David, have two daughters and two granddaughters and a grandson.
Others elected by the Youngstown Press Club membership to the club’s board of governors were:
• Tony Paglia, retired journalist and media and government relations professional, president-elect of the club.
• Lori Factor, director of P-12 & Business Partnerships and Initiatives at Youngstown State University, past president.
• Aundrea Heschmeyer, president of the Marquee Creatives marketing agency, treasurer.
• JoAnn Kolarik, WFMJ-TV account executive, secretary.
Elected to at-large positions on YPC’s board of governors were: Madison Tromler, WFMJ-TV news anchor and reporter; Jordan Cohen, former WFMJ-TV news director; and Denise Dick, special project manager at The Business Journal.
All officers and board members were elected to two-year terms beginning July 1.
