William E. Neiss 1934-2021

He was born in Warren, on Dec. 11, 1934, the son of George W. and Alice Rader Neiss and lived in the Niles community his entire life.

He was a 1952 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and honorably served in the United States Navy. He worked for 35 years at Ameritech Ohio Bell Telephone Company, AT&T, and retired in 1990. Following his retirement, he was at the Howland School System for several years.

William was a member of the Niles First United Methodist Church, the United States Power Squadrons and an original member of the Niles Y Cruise Club. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed boating.

William is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Adams Neiss, whom he married Oct. 19, 1957; son, Brian Edwin (Marcia) Neiss of Hubbard; daughter, Treva Lee Neiss of Niles; four grandchildren, Adrianne Neiss of Salt Lake City, Utah, Christopher (Courtney) Neiss of Vienna, Brian (Kayla) Neiss of Ashtabula and Michael Neiss of Geneva; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Charlotte and Ashton; a sister, Shirley Harris of Cortland; and niece, Cynthia Harris.

At William’s request, private services will be held at a future date. There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
