Tina Marie Carter 1961-2021

YOUNGSTOWN — On Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, Tina Marie Carter, 59, took flight from this earthly realm and entered her resting place in God’s arms at the Greenbriar Center.

Tina was born Dec. 16, 1961, in Youngstown, to Shirley and Shawn McCall.

Tina met and married the love of her life and best friend, Leslie Carter, and had three beautiful children. She was employed by Brentwood Originals for several years. She then pursued a career in home health and transportation. With her employment of driving, she ended her career with the Youngstown City Schools as a bus driver until retirement.

Tina was love in its greatest form. She gave of herself, knowledge, resources and kindness to anyone in need and her cup overflowed with it. She embraced life and enjoyed it with all those around her. She always had a joke to tell and could make anyone laugh. Her love extended to all who knew her. Tina loved outing events, music, thrifting and her absolutely fun excursions to the casino. By nature, she was a devoted foster care mother for years, but her greatest joy came from family, which was an unmovable foundation to her. Everyone close to her played an intricate and necessary part to her puzzle.

She leaves to cherish her legacy and memory her husband; her children, Tanisha (Ray) Carter and Stephanie Carter; a brother, John (Renee) McCall; a sister, Sonya McCall; grandchildren, Kennedy Queener and Cameron, Khari, Jeremiah, and Zajdel Anderson; an aunt, Delores “Moochie” Murphy; her father, Sean (Pumpkin) McCall; 15 additional siblings from her father’s side; stepchildren, Tawanna (Angel) Harris, Celeste Harris and Leslie Carter, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her son, Ivan Carter; her grandson, Leo Green; two siblings, Antonio Owens and Andrew McCall; her grandparents, Ronald Jr. and Lucille Harris; and a nephew, John’te McCall.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, OH 44511, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
