Michael N. Thurik 1946-2022

It is with much love and sorrow that we, the family, announce the passing. He left this world peacefully at his home under the care of Marion County Hospice.

He was a caring father, husband, brother and friend. Mike had been suffering a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He is now in a better place where he is free of all his pain.

Retiring at the age of 53, along with his loving wife, Carol, Mike moved from Poland, Ohio, to The Villages, Fla., in 2003 to take in the wonderful lifestyle.

Preceded in death by his parents, Olga and Michael Thurik, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol; a sister, Patricia Sandfry; niece, Genine Giampetro; and nephew, Geno Sandfry.

Mike was especially proud of his three children, Greg (fiancee, Megan) of Chicago, Krissy (husband, Reagan) Bollig of Tennessee and Kerri (husband, Adam) Kalman of Florida; one grandson, Connor Bollig; and two stepgrandchildren, Mary Reagan and Jones.
