Sharon Hope Altman 1946-2023
CANFIELD — Sharon Hope Altman, Sherry to her friends, left us Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at the age of 77. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving Robert Nelson and Helen Nelson, and her grandparents, Mervin and Fannie Gelber, all of California.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Marty Altman of Canfield; her sisters, Denise Munro and Julie Stone, both of California; her son, Cory Altman of Canfield; her daughter, Lisa Ann Altman of Canfield; her granddaughter, Alayna Lucia Spencer of Boardman; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Sherry was a loving, vibrant soul who loved her family dearly. She was an avid lover of animals and was very creative and quite gifted in home decor; she missed her calling as an interior designer.
Sherry was very sociable and had a natural knack for making friends everywhere she went. She did several television commercials for Golden Dawn Foods in the early 1980s.
To honor Sherry’s memory, calling hours will be 10:30 to 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at Shriver-Allison-Courtley-Weller-King Funeral Home, with a funeral service to immediately follow, officiated by Rabbi Berman, after which a burial service will be held at Ohev Tzedek Cemetery on Tippecanoe Road.
The Altman family would like to thank Akeso Hospice for the loving care Sherry was given.
The family encourages anyone who wishes to donate to The Alzheimers Foundation.
