Laura L. Schimpf 1983-2024

GIRARD — Laura L. Schimpf, 40, departed this life unexpectedly, Wednesday evening, March 13, 2024, at her home, due to natural causes.
Laura was born Aug. 27, 1983, in Youngstown, a daughter of Gary and Bridget Netzel Schimpf, and was a lifelong area resident.
Laura was a woman of many passions and interests. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and found solace and joy in the color green. She loved butterflies and possessed a deep love for animals, often extending her kindness and care to furry friends in need.
Laura’s most defining trait was her boundless capacity for love and generosity. She had a natural affinity for children and assumed the role of a mother figure to many. Her nurturing spirit touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Laura’s kindness knew no bounds and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Among her many attributes, Laura possessed an exceptional memory for dates, never failing to remember the birthdays and anniversaries of her beloved family and friends. Her thoughtfulness and consideration endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Her gentle nature and warm smile brightened the lives of those around her, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Laura is survived by her husband, Jonathan Taddei; her daughter, Amber Schimpf (Caden Staup) of Girard; her son, Joseph Schimpf (Danyelle Pietz) of Girard; her granddaughter, Peyton, her “Peyton pumpkin pie”; her parents, Gary and Bridget Schimpf of Girard; her sister, Anna Soltesz and brother-in-law, Joe Soltesz, who was like a brother to Laura, of McDonald; two brothers, Gary (Deidre) Schimpf Jr. of McDonald and Roy Schimpf (Danielle Cross) of Kentucky; her nieces, whom she affectionately called her “pretties,” Hope, Sable, Olivia and Jocelyn; her nephews, whom she affectionately called her “phews,” Evan, Ethan, Grady, Jonah, Jackson and Jeremiah; her father- and mother-in-law, Frederick and Lynnette Taddei of Warren; her brother-in-law, who was like a brother to Laura, Marcus (Rachael) Taddei of Warren; grandmother, JoAnn Branch of Greenville, Pa.; her beloved dog, her baby, Muffin; and many cousins and extended family members.
Her grandparents, Martha Netzel, George Schimpf Sr., Gladys Schimpf and Silvio Taddei; aunt and uncle, Pamela Schimpf and George Schimpf Jr.; aunt, Angela Paris; two cousins, Tiffany Lynn Schimpf Burkett and Norma Clauson; and a nephew, Asher Schimpf, preceded Laura in death.
Family and friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday March 21, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m.
Private interment will take place Friday in Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
