Michele B. Keil 1943-2024

MENTOR — Michele B. Keil, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, March 15, 2024, at Symphony at Mentor.

Born March 9, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Dr. John Candas and Gloria Rogerson Nuzum.

Michele was a graduate of Wheeling College in Wheeling, W.Va.

A homemaker, family was her focus and she devoted her life to her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two children, Holland Heller and her husband, Christopher of Akron, and John Greene and his wife, Laurie of Mentor; a stepson, John Keil Jr. and his wife, Kim of Columbiana; four grandchildren, Christopher and Katherine Heller, and Emerson and Parker Greene; and three step-grandchildren, Devan, Logan and Avery Willis.

Also surviving are a sister, Kimberly Lawrence of Longboat Key, Florida; a brother, William B. Nuzum of Bradenton, Florida; and Karen Clark of Boardman, who was like a daughter to Michele.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Keil; a sister, Melissa Forte; and her grandmother, Rhea Rogerson.

Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St., Oil City, Pa., where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Bill Hopkins officiating.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made, in Michele’s name, to a local Humane Society.
