George L. Pintea 1945-2024

BOARDMAN — George L. Pintea, a cherished husband, father, grandfather and esteemed business leader, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, May 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old.

George, who was born on May 26, 1945, in Youngstown, to the late George and Julia Benish Pintea, led a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for his work and a commitment to his community.

After graduating from Carson Long Academy in Pennsylvania, George honorably served his country in the United States Army. He then embarked on a remarkable career, culminating as the executive vice president of Piping Rock. His legacy in the business world also was defined by his foundational role at Nature’s Bounty, where he dedicated 45 years.

Throughout his career, George was recognized with numerous accolades, including Vendor of the Year and Employee of the Year, a testament to his intelligence, dedication and leadership. George’s life was a reflection of the love and passion he had for his work and family. Those who worked with him often became extended family members and he generously shared his entrepreneurial spirit by mentoring others in business.

George’s influence extended beyond the boardroom and into the hearts of many. Outside of his professional endeavors, George found solace and joy in the greens and fairways of the Tippecanoe Country Club, where he served as vice president. His love for golf was matched only by his enthusiasm for fishing and boating, activities that brought him closer to nature and provided cherished memories with friends and family.

George’s legacy is carried on by his beloved wife of nearly 48 years, Cheryl Tepper Pintea of Boardman, whom he married Sept. 11, 1976. He was a proud father to his two daughters, Holly (Dr. Booker) Bair and Heather (Dr. Robert) Moser, both of Canfield. His role as a grandfather to Brinkley and Tyce Bair, and Hadley and Hudson Moser, filled him with immense joy and pride. George’s presence as a loving, intelligent and passionate family man will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
