Olga P. Pabst 1924-2024

AUSTINTOWN — Olga Pauline Pabst, 99, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Victoria House in Austintown, where she had been a resident for 17 years.

Olga was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Youngstown, the daughter of Paul and Julia Jakubec. She lived in the Youngstown area her entire life, spending her childhood on the West Side of Youngstown and Austintown.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Randall E. “Gene” Pabst, whom she married Feb. 4, 1950.

Olga was an auxiliary member of the Austintown Little League, as well as a member of the Optimist Club of Austintown and the Saxon Club. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed outdoor gardening and landscaping. Olga was very patriotic; she loved to dress in red, white and blue on Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, and never missed Austintown’s Memorial Day services; her flower beds always included a red, white and blue display of petunias. Olga was a child at heart and loved to dress in costume for the Halloween parties at Victoria House.

She is survived by her three sons, Randy (Judy) Pabst of Poland, Brian Pabst of Austintown and Phil (Barb) Pabst of Austintown; as well as three grandchildren, Corey (Amy) Pabst, Emily Pabst and Tyler (Maddie) Pabst; and her great-grandchildren, Camille and Jude. Her brothers, Daniel and Paul, are deceased.

The family is grateful to the angels of Victoria House for the care and comfort they provided during the last 17 years of Olga’s life, as well as to Diane Pabst for her love and support.

Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church,162 S. Raccoon Road, Youngstown, OH 44515, with services to follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
