Joseph S. Pratt 1955-2024

BOARDMAN — Joseph S. Pratt, 68, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024.

He was born Nov. 16, 1955,­­­ in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the son of the late Joseph A. and Helen T. Kalwicz Pratt.

Joseph was a 1974 graduate of Rockland High School in Massachusetts, where in 1972, they were the state basketball champions.

He retired as the director of maintenance operations for McDonald’s, where he had worked since 1973.

Joseph enjoyed family vacations at his beach house in Carvar and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music, especially Tom Petty and the Grateful Dead, being outdoors, landscaping and spending time in his pool, but most of all he treasured time spent with his grandchildren, whom he adored.

Joseph will always be remembered by his wife, the former Jacqueline Weaver, whom he married Sept. 17, 1994; four children, Christine Jordan, Amanda Pratt, Joseph (Heather) Pratt and Andrew (Jessica) Weaver; four grandchildren, Jason, Robyn and Hayden Pratt, and Caitlin Weaver; sister, Terry (Randy) Mercer; brother, Alan (Cathy) Pratt; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anastasia Weaver.

Friends and family may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman, with words of remembrance to follow.

The family respectfully requests guests wear their favorite Tom Petty or Grateful Dead attire.
