William J. ‘Lucky’ Dellick Sr. 1930-2024

CAMPBELL — William James “Lucky” Dellick Sr., 93 passed away peacefully, Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at his home and surrounded by family.

He was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of Walter and Anna Maletich Dellick.

He was a 1948 graduate of East High School.

Bill married his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Dellick, on July 14, 1956, and they were married 61 years until her passing, March 24, 2018.

Bill worked for Aeroquip Republic Rubber / Republic Hose until his retirement in 1993.

Bill was an avid bowler, golfer and played many years of baseball. He is a proud inductee of the East High Golden Bears Hall of Fame for baseball. He loved his Cleveland Indians, Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War, and he was an active member of St. Angela Merici Parish-Sacred Heart Church.

To cherish his memory, Bill leaves his daughters, Leslie (Kenny) Piette and Diane (Rick) Heckman; his son, Bill (Nancy) Dellick Jr.; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Trevor) Hoyt, Matthew Heckman and Gabbi (Tyler) Ham; his great-grandchildren, Madison Hoyt, Kyle Hoyt, Ariana Heckman and Nola Ham; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Patty Perline; nieces, Linda Cifalde and Stacy Piette, who always took him to his favorite pastime, the casinos, where he did quite well; his best friends and neighbors, Ron and Linda Sebest; and all of his beloved nieces and nephews, who will cherish his memory.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; his in-laws, James and Phyllis Perline; his brothers, Jack, Joe, Frank, Tom and Jim; his sisters, Katie and Rosemary; and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lee and Gerry O’Hara, and Ken and Marie Klase.

The Dellick family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care of Bill and the great support they gave to our family.

The Dellick family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends and family 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at the funeral home in Campbell. A prayer service will be offered 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Parish, officiated by the Rev. Thomas Kraszewski.
