Beije S. Cessna 1950-2024
ROGERS — Beije S. Cessna, 74, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
Beije was born May 21, 1950, in Sweetwater, Texas, a daughter of the late Oather and Vada Bullard Hanks.
She attended Sweetwater High School in Texas for two years before moving to the Youngstown area and graduated from Boardman High School in 1969.
Besides being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Beije worked in the healthcare industry. She worked at Diamond Head Nursing Home in North Lima for several years before going into home health care, working for several agencies.
Beije loved cooking for family and friends. She treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beije is survived by her husband of 58 years, David H. Cessna, whom she married Dec. 23, 1966; four children, James B. (Kathleen) Cessna of Boardman, Tammra “Tammy” L. (Dwain) Smith of Columbiana, Mathew A. Cessna of Boardman and Richard G. Cessna of Boardman; eight grandchildren, James (Jessica) Cessna Jr., Aaron (Amber) Cessna, Andrew (Emily) Cessna, Nicholas Cessna, Addison Clingerman, Alexander Clingerman, Tonya Davenport and David Lapin; and six extended grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, Valerie Cessna, James Cessna III, Evelyn Cessna, Amierre Clingerman, Zakk Davenport and Rowan Davenport; a brother, Kelley (Nell) Hanks of Texas; two sisters, Rojeana Ivey of Texas and Starla (Gaylon) Bond of Texas; and extended family.
Family and friends may call 3 to 4:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. in Boardman. There will be a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jason Allen officiating.
