Barbara P. Lucy 1950-2024
HUBBARD — Barbara P. Lucy, 74, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at Hospice House.
Barbara was a force of love, laughter and unwavering dedication to her family. She left this world as she lived it — surrounded by the warmth of family and love.
Born with a heart big enough to hold the universe, her family was her greatest treasure and her devotion to her children and loved ones was limitless. She loved with a heart so full that it could hold every joy, every tear and every triumph of those she held dear. Her family always knew they were her priority, her joy and her proudest accomplishment.
A magician in the kitchen, she didn’t just cook meals, she crafted memories. Her recipes were less about the ingredients and more about the love she stirred into each pot. Whether it was a Sunday dinner or a holiday feast, she made sure her table and heart had room for everyone.
A collector with a flair for sentimental keepsakes, she filled her home with Raggedy Ann and Andy treasures, dishes, dolls and cookbooks to rival a library. They weren’t just collections; they were reflections of her vibrant spirit and her ability to find joy in the smallest things.
Barb had a knack for making even the simplest moments feel extraordinary. Her humor was quick, her wit sharp and her laughter infectious. Whether it was sharing a story or cracking a joke, she reminded us to cherish our time spent with those who mattered most.
She leaves behind a legacy of love: her husband, Hedrick Lucy, of 56 years; her children, Richard Lucy, Mary Fronzaglio and David Lucy; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters and one brother; and countless others who felt her love over the last 74 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. Pitts Sr. and Ramona Evans Pitts; her brother, Alfred E. Pitts Jr.; and her nephew, Cody A. Pitts.
