Eugene J. DeMarco Jr. 1951-2024
BOARDMAN — Eugene “Geno” Joseph DeMarco Jr. passed away peacefully, Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at Assumption Village.
He was a 1969 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and upon graduation, served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam and was a proud veteran.
After his military service, Geno attended YSU and was employed by and retired from the United States Postal Service after 32 years. He was also secretary of the letter carriers union, helped run their annual food drive and contributed to various charities for the post office. He represented letter carriers in the union at different proceedings and loved talking about how he helped other union employees.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and son, and papa to his granddaughter, Lily, whom he adored.
He also loved being with his family
He always put others first. He enjoyed helping others and was always there for others.
He loved sports, especially football. He loved playing bocce.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Kelly Dickson (Mike), Amy DeMarco and Tracy DeMarco; granddaughter, Lily DeMarco; sister, Melissa DeMarco-Seidle (Ron); and his mother, Dorothy DeMarco.
Previously deceased were his father, Eugene DeMarco; and his wife, Charmain DeMarco.
Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road, Youngstown, OH 44511, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Christine Church.
Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
