Gina Bucci, 1934-2024

Gina was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Roccaraso, Italy, a daughter of Vincenzo and Concetta DiBattista Giardini.

She immigrated to the United States with her late husband, Pietro “Peter,” after marrying in Roccaraso on April 13, 1958.

She had a passion for cooking and gardening, with a particular fondness for flowers. Gina was a member of St. Jude Church in Columbiana, as well as a former member of Sons of Italy Lodge 2539. In her younger years, Gina was an active member of various bocce leagues.

Her greatest love was always reserved for her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Gina is survived by three children, Victor Bucci of Columbus, Deborah (Frank) Giardini of Downingtown, Pa., and Denise (Dale) Varner of Northfield Center; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and five siblings.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gina was preceded in death by five siblings.

Calling hours will be 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, OH 44408. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Burial will take place in Lake Park Cemetery.
