Jack F. Leskovar 1941-2024
BOARDMAN — Jack F. “Yucko” Leskovar, 83, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.
Born July 26, 1941, in Youngstown, Jack was a beloved son of the late Jacob and Mary Shver Leskovar.
Jack was raised in Struthers, where he graduated from Struthers High School. Following high school, he dedicated 47 years of his life to his profession as a welder for General Extrusions.
On May 20, 1967, Jack married his best friend, Geri Pisciuneri, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. This union marked the beginning of a beautiful life together filled with love and contentment as they created a family that included their son and three cherished grandchildren. For more than 57 years, Jack and Geri shared countless happy memories.
Jack’s life was enriched by many family vacations, with his favorite moments spent visiting and playing with his grandchildren. He took immense pride in being an active part of their lives, always cherishing the time spent together.
Jack was a loyal supporter of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes, showing enthusiasm and pride for his teams. Additionally, he found joy in fishing, playing cards and board games with his cousins and relished his mornings spent at Panera and Dunkin’ Donuts, where he enjoyed the company of friends over a warm cup of coffee.
Above all, Jack valued his role as a loving husband, father and Pop Pop.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Geri of Boardman; his son, Jack (Katie) Leskovar of Verona, Wisconsin, and his three treasured grandchildren, Jake, Will and his princess, Sophie, who brought boundless joy to his life. Jack also will be remembered by his three sisters, Josie Pearson of Struthers, Mary Ann (Rich) Klingensmith of Howland and Dolly Shevetz of Columbus, as well as his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Joann Pisciuneri of New Castle, Pa. He also leaves many wonderful nieces and nephews who never, never forgot him through his difficult times. A special thank you to his niece, Doreen, for always being there.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Justina Jasechko; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Frances Pisciuneri.
Visitation will be 2 to 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
