John C. Springsteen 1963-2024
MINERAL RIDGE — John Clark Springsteen, 60, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 11, 1963, in Albany, New York, to the late Clark and Della Springsteen, he moved to this area in 2020 to be closer to family. John graduated from Rensselaer Junior-Senior High School in 1982 and retired in 2020 after working at Albany Law School.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Teresa, whom he met in 1971. Their deep friendship blossomed into a lifelong partnership. He is also survived by his sister, Patti Mosesson (Steve), with whom he shared a close bond; as well as their son, Christopher, with whom he was equally close. John’s relationship with Steve, who taught him to drive, and with Chris, whom he introduced to classic rock, was foundational to his life.
John was a passionate firefighter, serving 22 years with the Rensselaer Fire Department, and he collected firefighting memorabilia throughout his life. His pride and joy was a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500, restored as a replica fire chief car, which he enjoyed showcasing at car shows. He appreciated the friendships of fellow enthusiasts and was grateful for the support of his neighbors and community, particularly the Weathersfield Township Fire Department and hospice workers. He was deeply moved by the kindness of his friends, especially John and Michelle Collins, and was thankful for the unwavering support of his family.
John passed peacefully, comforted by his faith and the love of those around him.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at Lane Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel, where friends may call for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fire Family Foundation or a charity of choice.
