Joseph ‘Ringo’ Jubak 1942-2024
YOUNGSTOWN — Joe Jubak, 82, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Hospice of the Valley, with his brother Charlie at his side.
Joe, affectionately known as “Ringo,” was born July 4, 1942, in Youngstown, to the late John G. and Anne Zvarich Jubak. He was a longtime west side of Youngstown resident.
He was preceded in death by his parents; companion, Linda Creighton; sister, Joanne; and brother, John Jubak.
Joe is survived by his brother, Charlie Jubak; nephew, Michael Jubak; niece, Brenda Murdock; nephew, Bob Jubak (Mary); great-niece, Marie; three great-nephews, Bobby, Zach and Josh; five great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and close friend, Connie Brue, and her beloved family.
Joe was a 1960 graduate of Cardinal Mooney and worked as an ironworker in Local 207 for over 30 years throughout the tri-county area, Italy and Antarctica.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, St. George Croatian Center and the Saxon Club in Youngstown. He was a devout Catholic who attended church weekly and had a strong faith in God.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and competed in civilian marksmanship events at Camp Perry in Port Clinton.
Joe was an avid NASCAR fan, naming his dog “Rusty” after his favorite driver, Rusty Wallace. Joe enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians games, and in his younger years, he could be found boating, water skiing and skydiving.
Family and friends may gather 10 to 10:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 4545 New Road in Austintown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Joe’s name to the Catholic War Veterans, 609 Steel St., Youngstown, OH 44509.
