Judith A. Palma, 1948-2024

POLAND — Judith A. Palma, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at Hospice House with her family by her side, leaving behind a legacy of love.

She was born on July 6, 1948, in Youngstown, to the late Thomas A. and Marie Spotleson Campana Sr.

She dedicated her life to nurturing others, both through her career as a self-employed hairdresser and through her family connections that defined her existence. Her hands were not only skilled in styling hair but were also symbols of her gentle spirit and kind heart. Her career spanned over 50 years.

Judi was a proud graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. Her ability to touch people’s lives extended beyond her work; she lived to serve her family and so many others. She was a master in the kitchen and her home cooking was that of perfection for hosting family gatherings, parties and holidays at her home.

Judi enjoyed annual family trips to Naples, Florida, and traveling and partying with her “Crew” (John “Cooms” and Jeanne, David and Janet, and Dan and Emily). Some of her most cherished moments were spent with her best friend from childhood, Laraine (Joe) Briganti. The two were inseparable and shared a sisterly bond that they will forever hold.

Judi is survived by the love of her life for 54 years, Martin Palma Sr., whom she married May 30, 1970; two devoted sons and daughter in-laws, Marty (Patty) Palma Jr. of Parker, Colorado, and Jamey (Jaime) Palma of Massillon. Her five grandchildren, Vincent, Sophia, Cole, Natalie and Dane Palma, were the true light in her life. She adored them and found immense joy in watching them grow.

In addition to her immediate family, Judi leaves behind three amazing brothers and sisters in-law who were the backbone of support in her life, Joseph (Karin) Campana of Castle Rock, Colorado, Sam (Sherrie) Campana of Boardman and Thomas (Karen) Campana of Poland; and many nieces and nephews. The strength of familial ties were a source of comfort and energy for Judi throughout her life.

To honor Judi’s remarkable life and the love she shared, visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road.

Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at Holy Family Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
