Mildred Ann Larney, 1931-2024

LIBERTY — Mildred Ann Larney, 92, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at Liberty Health Care, with her family by her side.

Mildred was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Euclid, the daughter of Adamo and Dorothy Marcoguiseppe Calabrese.

Mildred had devoted her time to help her sons in the start of their companies, but her greatest joy was being a devoted, loving mother and grandmother to her family.

She was a member of St. Rose Church, and she was a member of Liberty Bells Garden Club. Mildred enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, knitting and crocheting, baking and playing solitaire in her spare time. Her devotion to her grandchildren was always her first priority in life.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Vincent T. Larney and Thomas V. Larney and wife Gina, both of Liberty; her daughter-in-law, Fifi Lynn Larney; grandchildren, Paige (Michael) Trotta, Brooke Larney, Jade Larney, Louis Larney, Gia Larney and Thomas Larney; and her great-grandchildren, Savannah and Parker.

Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benedict Blase Larney, whom she married in 1954 and who died April 14, 1978; sisters, Theresa McCullen, Florence Gruszka, Eve Conway and Diane Stanich; and her brothers, Ralph, Salvatore, Anthony and Adam Calabrese.

Private services have taken place at Blackstone Funeral Home with Fr. John Kozlowski officiating.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to: Alzheimer’s Association in Mildred’s memory.
