Paul W. Vagnarelli 1951-2024
YOUNGSTOWN — Paul W. Vagnarelli, 73, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, 2024, with his family by his side.
Paul was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of Anthony and Vivian Testa Vagnarelli. He worked for over 20 years with General Fireproofing, and later with Master’s Office Supply.
Paul was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica. He enjoyed gardening, growing and canning his own peppers. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a fan of boxing. He would volunteer his time helping at Jack Lowe’s Southside Boxing Gym. He loved the time spent with his family and granddog, Gemma.
Paul was a proud veteran, serving his country with the United States Army.
His wife, Karen Best Vagnarelli, whom he married Feb. 22, 1975, passed away Oct. 22, 2008.
Paul will be remembered lovingly by his two children, Paul Vagnarelli and Kristi (Joe) Zagorsky; his granddaughter, Gianna Vagnarelli; brother, Joseph (Patricia) Vagnarelli; father-in-law, Pat Cua; two nieces, Lisa (Dave) O’Conner and Brittany Best; nephews, A.J. Vagnarelli and Jimmy Best; and many cousins and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife; parents; mother-in-law, Barbara Cua; father-in-law, Raymond Best; and brothers-in-law, James and David Best.
Family and friends may pay their respects 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman, followed by a 7 p.m. service.
