Ronald R. Havrilla 1943-2024
CANFIELD — Ronald R. Havrilla, 81, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.
Born Aug. 18, 1943, in Warren, Ron was the cherished son of Stephen and Cecilia (Sophie Bajnok) Havrilla.
Ron led a life rooted in family, faith and community. He was a proud graduate of Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University in logistics. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and later became vice president of transportation for Columbia Iron and Metal.
After retiring, Ron and his wife, Dorajean, co-owned JMJ Spiritual Connection, a venture that reflected their shared commitment to faith and service. They were members of St. Patrick, St. Christine and St. Jude churches.
He was a passionate Cleveland sports fan. Ron rarely missed a Browns, Guardians or Cavaliers game, cheering for his teams with unwavering enthusiasm. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends and traveling with his wife.
Ron and Dorajean raised their family in Twinsburg, where they created a loving home filled with laughter and unforgettable memories. In later years, they returned to Canfield to be closer to family. Throughout his life, Ron’s greatest joy came from his wife of 56 years, Dorajean, and their family. He is also survived by his children, Brian (Beth) of Bay Village, Tod (Erica) of Macedonia, Morgan (Rob) Jacob of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Stephen of Canfield; his beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Allison, Alexander, Lucas, Ryan and Hunter; his two great-grandchildren, Jake and Chase; his brother, Richard (Marilyn) Havrilla; and in-laws, Carol Havrilla, John (Pam) Furrie, Vincent (Jill) Furrie and Michael (Mary) Furrie.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Havrilla; and his in-laws, Vincent Sr. and Mary Louise Bruno Furrie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
