Stanley J. Miglets Jr. 1951-2024

CANFIELD — Stanley J. Miglets Jr., 73, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 26, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Stanley was born April 15, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of the late Stanley J. Miglets Sr. and Helen Kohowski Miglets. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Class of 1969, the inaugural graduating class of the new school.

Stan devoted 46 years of service to General Motors Lordstown before retiring in 2016. A man of many talents and passions, he found joy in working on cars, camping and spending time at his favorite getaway, Indian Creek at Geneva-on-the-Lake. He was an avid traveler who loved exploring the outdoors and watching thunderstorms, a simple pleasure that brought him peace. Above all, Stan cherished time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, where his support and pride were unwavering.

Stan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Debra S. Ward Miglets, whom he married May 5, 1973, at St. Stanislaus Church; his daughter, Mandi (Greg) Young of Austintown; his son, Eric (Debbie) Miglets of Austintown; three grandchildren, Dakota Miglets, Gabrielle Miglets and Dominic Miglets; a great-grandson, Atlas Miglets; three sisters, Paulette Sculli of Austintown, Karen (Chuck) Boros of Austintown and Helaine (Ken) Yash of Diamond; his nieces and nephews, whom he was very proud of, Shannon Weimer, Larry Ward Jr., Renee Bastin, Michael Sculli, KCey Anthony, Kristin Williamson, Ken Yash, Tom Yash and Laura Lenz; his aunt, Camille Allen; and several extended family members.

Family and friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m.
